Interpreting

Accurate’s interpreters are mostly qualified graduates who also translate. Experts in their subjects, they can communicate between you and your foreign language colleagues or clients using industry-specific terminology.

Interpreters specialise in varying methods:

Consecutive interpreting means that when the source language speaker pauses, the interpreter tells the target language listener what was said – and interprets the reply. This can also be done by a simple 3 way telephone call.

For conferences and presentations, a Simultaneous interpreter tells you in the target language what the speaker in the source language is saying, as they speak it. If there are only two or three target language listeners, the interpreter will "whisper" the translation, without equipment. For more listeners, booths, a sound desk and headsets are needed.

Legal work

Legal interpreters help lawyers and their clients to prepare briefs and then attend court. We supply Consecutive interpreters for this. Whilst courts may sometimes request a DPSI qualification with NRPSI registration (which we can supply), interpreters from Accurate Translations Ltd. usually have superior qualifications compared to other translation agency groups. Some solicitors find this advantageous in court.

Consecutive interpreters are also widely requested for activities such as disciplinary hearings and forensic accounting depositions.

Meetings and Negotiations

Our Consecutive interpreters are also employed to accompany visitors to organisations and business meetings. They regularly help to negotiate contracts, sell products and services and care for your guests on tours and at lunches and dinners.

Conferences and Presentations

Interpreting for conferences and presentations is a very intensive occupation and you'll need to hire two interpreters per session.

Booking Interpreters

When you call, email or fill in the Enquiry Form to request information about interpreting, we will ask:

• The address of the venue
• The meeting or event type
• When the interpreter is needed
• What the needed languages are

We’ll confirm your interpreting order in writing. Interpreters are experienced, highly reliable and flexible - if your meeting runs over, they usually stay.

For international work, we can book local interpreters or a UK based interpreter can fly with you to your destination, so you can brief them on the way - interpreters work best when they've had a chance to study your in-house terminology before a meeting.
